I am SZANIMA // Szandra Mészáros, a Budapest-based designer and visual artist working across motion design, projection mapping, immersive installations and experimental audiovisual performances.
I graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts with a Master’s degree in Graphic Design and further expanded my studies at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. My early work focused on visual identities and packaging design, earning international recognition through awards such as the Red Dot Design Award. Over time, my focus shifted from static compositions towards moving image and generative, audio-reactive systems.
My work spans music videos, live VJ sets and installation-based projects exploring the relationship between sound, space and perception. Drawing on collective memory and altered states of consciousness, I create fluid, non-human forms and evolving digital worlds that invite viewers into spaces of ambiguity, transformation and contemplation. My recent AV performances have been presented at Fondation Vasarely and the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest.
I am a long-time collaborator of Hungarian folktronica artist Дeva and electronic musician Zságer Balázs, creating unique visual worlds that expand and complement their live performances.
